The passing out parade was recently held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Center Razzakabad. On this occasion chief guest, IGP AD khowaja said that 1,200 units have been recruited for strengthening the security of CPEC. Around 7000 police units including 384 were from Razzakabad Police Training Center are added to the security unit for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
China-Pakistan Corridor is a huge asset for the economic development of our Country, IGP further added that the Sindh police is committed to rooting out terrorism and cleanse the society of criminal elements and are important assets to the country. He also spoke regarding the selfless efforts and sacrifices made by the Sindh Police Force for the elimination of terrorism.
In September 2016, a Special Security Division(SSD) was formed which consisted of nine Infantry Battalions along with six Civil Armed Forces wings which functioned to provide security to as many as 8,819 Chinese professionals working in Pakistan on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The entire cost of raising the force along with the equipment summed up to Rs22.60 billion. The government spent Rs5.77 billion in raising civil armed force component, while on the other hand 15.8 billion are being incurred in terms of Army component. As for the purchase of equipment, about Rs 1.3 billion was spent.
