You win or lose we love you, and we will love you more and more, yes it is about Pakistanis and their never ending love and support for their Cricket team But again here is someone who wants the same love and passion from Pakistanis to introduce MMA as another most popular sport in Pakistan.
About Bashir- A Former Pro Fighter
Bashir Ahmed born in Faisalabad but later went to America. He was in the U.S Army, he fought MMA on the international stage and made debut in 2013 at ‘Kings and Champions.’ He became the professional fighter at the age of 30 and registered four wins in his seven official fights.
Bashir retired early and left US army just to bring MMA (Mixed martial arts) in Pakistan (who does this? May he get what he aims for his Nation and country).
What Bashir did to promote MMA in Pakistan
It was 2005 when in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) Virginia, Bashir started his training, at that time MMA was at his peak in Noth America too. After his training, he came back to Pakistan in 2007.
MMA Pakistan founded in 2007, with a simple but highest, aim to promote martial arts sports in Pakistan. Bashir worked for it day and night just to chase his dream and make people more aware that what is MMA. He conducted many seminars throughout the country while kept talking and discussing things with his experts and friends in BJJ.
His efforts paid off, and he collected enough funds to initiated a suitable gym and Synergy MMA Academy in Lahore. In 2012, Bashir had sufficient funds to set up a proper gym. He opened Synergy MMA Academy in Lahore, the biggest in the country.
While Speaking to a media guy, Bashir said,
I came here [to Pakistan] to make this the sport in Pakistan. I made a gym, people came. I involved people in online discussions. I promoted different fighters and martial artists, and I made MMA look cool.
The big goal is to make it [MMA] the premier sport in Pakistan, possibly surpassing cricket. That might be big and a lofty vision, that may or may not come to fruit, but that is the goal I see.
