In Larkana , Director General of the frontier works organization(FWO), Major General Mohammad Afzal said that the government of Sindh has advised to develop Mallir Expressway from the Karachi city industrial port to motorway in order to connect the province to Gwadar and other highways. He further added that the infrastructure played a very eminent role in the better trade. Expressway would connect heavy traffic of the industrial areas such as Korangi Landhi and Port Qasim through the motorway to the Gwadar International Seaport.
The Chinese and the government of Pakistan successfully paved the way of activities of trade in the region. He said it was an impossible task, but the road infrastructure under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had been completed within the stipulated time along with that laying railway tracks and pipelines was a gigantic task. He paid attention on development of railway network and pipelines on western routes in line with the CPEC objectives. He further added that connecting the existing railway network to central and eastern routes was also a must for 100 percent achievement of CPEC objectives.
The FWO chief said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor proved a game changer for Pakistan and the people of Baluchistan would see development and immense trade activity from Gwadar to various regional countries. He further added that this development would create hundreds of thousands of new jobs in the area. As a matter of fact tourism would also get a boost with the completion of CPEC projects.
