After the complete success of Chashma-I and Chashma-II projects now Chashma-III is inaugurated near Mianwali by Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif. The Prime Minister on this occasion said, that we should not waste our time launching unnecessary protests, ending load-shedding is one of our top priorities and we will surely put an end to load shedding by 2018. He further added that the project is reflective of closer cooperation between Pakistan and China in science and technology.
This project is the beginning of a new era of development in the region. The project will contribute to the overall economic development of the country through energy supply to industrial and commercial sectors. The 340 Mega Watt Nuclear Power Plant project is a joint collaboration between the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and China National Nuclear Corporation. It was executed by the PAEC under the guidelines of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Chashma – IV Nuclear Power Project is expected to be completed in 2017. Karachi Nuclear Power Projects K-2 and K-3 will add a total of 8,800 MW electricity to the National Grid by 2030 as Mid-Term target for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. All Nuclear Power Projects, along with Chashma-III are approved by Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority for Nuclear Safeguards. The prime minister said that timely completion of the K-II and K-III nuclear power plants will further strengthen Pakistan’s relations with China.
PM also invited all the Chinese investors to invest in any sector for the mutual benefit of both the countries.
